We have tomatoes, sweet corn, green beans,,sweet and hot peppers by the 1/2 or full bushel ready for canning or freezing. Stop in and get all your fresh fruits and vegetables,this time of year doesn't last long so enjoy them everyday!
Steve's Excellent Salsa Recipe
4 small toes of garlic-5lbs. ripe tomatoes about 15 medium-1 seeded and chopped chili pepper-3 cups chopped onion-1 jalapeno chopped and seeded-3/4 cups 5%cider vinegar-2 banana peppers chopped and seeded-5 tsp. kosher salt-1/4 tsp. each basil & oregano-1/8 tsp. cumin.
Dip tomatoes in boiling water for 30 seconds, Dip in cold water & peel skins, core and chop tomatoes.
In a 6 to 8 quart sauce pan combine all ingredients. Bring to a boil, turn down to a simmer, simmer for 1 hour or desired thickness.
Sterilize jars and lids, fill jars to 1/2 inch head space, run a non metal spoon down inside of jars to remove bubbles. Process in boiling water for 15 min. cool over night.
You may add any of your favorite spices. Enjoy!
